How Memo and Hypernode boosted Kempers’ webshop performance

In this case study, we share how we helped our client Kempers improve their webshop’s performance, without a full migration. Together with the team at Hypernode, we managed a smooth server upgrade that delivered speed, stability, and long-term value.

 

The Challenge

Kempers runs a successful webshop, but their setup was starting to show signs of aging. Performance wasn’t bad, but we knew it could be better and we didn’t want to wait for issues to arise. A full migration wasn’t necessary, but the server environment needed an upgrade. That’s where we saw an opportunity: proactively improve performance with minimal disruption.

The Solution 

We reached out to Kempers with the suggestion to move their webshop to a newer, more powerful server. They trusted our advice, and together with the Hypernode team, we planned and executed the upgrade.

To make the most of the opportunity, we tackled a few key improvements:

- Upgraded Debian from Buster to Bookworm

- Cleaned up outdated software, including old NodeJS versions

- Improved long-term stability and maintainability

Our development team worked closely with Hypernode to ensure the switch went smoothly, no downtime, no customer impact, just a better performing platform.
