Alumio training: learn to build and manage integrations yourself

An integration is never finished. A field is added in the ERP, a marketplace asks for an extra attribute, a supplier changes its API. If every small change has to go through a ticket with an outside party, your integration landscape becomes slower than your business. That is why many teams want to build and manage integrations themselves, and they are often closer to that than they think.

Alumio makes it achievable because integrations are configured rather than programmed. A mapping is not code in someone's script but configuration you can read, test and change. What your team needs is not a programming course, but someone who knows the platform inside out and works through your own landscape with you.

That is what the Alumio Enablement Packages are for. They are an Alumio product, and Memo delivers them as a partner: one of our Alumio specialists works directly with your team, so you are up and running on your own quickly.

What your team does itself, and what to leave to us

Building in-house does not have to be all or nothing. In practice a mix works best: we build the complex routes, your team manages and extends them.

What a trained team handles well. Adding a field to an existing mapping, extending a route with an extra channel that follows the same pattern, reading the logs when something is stuck and resubmitting a message. That is the work that comes up most often, and it is exactly the work you do not want to wait on an outside party for.

Where it pays to bring us in. Setting up the data landscape: which system owns which data and which routes you need. APIs that do not behave as expected, such as a source without an endpoint for the data you need. And routes that hit revenue directly, such as the order flow into your ERP, where an error lands straight with customers and the sales team. How we build those routes is covered on ERP integration for your webshop.

Where the line sits differs per team. One team eventually takes over almost everything, another sticks to management and small extensions, and that can shift as your team grows. If you want someone else to watch over your routes, Managed integrations explains how we arrange that, with an SLA that matches your data routes.

Seven things your team gets from an Enablement Package

Direct integration support

A short line to us when you get stuck, instead of a ticket lost in a queue somewhere.

A specialist next to your team

A Memo Alumio specialist works directly with your people, in your own environment.

Tailored training

Shaped around your systems, your routes and your team's level, not a standard curriculum.

A structured start

Guidance in a set sequence, so your team is productive quickly instead of finding its own way.

Entity schemas and transformers

How you describe and translate data, so a mapping stays readable for whoever comes after you.

Debugging with the logs

Finding a stuck message, understanding why it failed and resubmitting it.

Storage and task processing

When to store data along the way and how tasks run through the platform, so your routes stay stable at higher volumes.

Alumio Academy, the Forum and where enablement begins

Alumio itself already offers a foundation for learning the platform. An Alumio edition gives you access to the Alumio Support Centre, the Alumio Academy and the Alumio Public Forum. The Academy is where you learn how the platform works at your own pace. The Forum is public: you ask other Alumio users questions there and read how they solved similar problems.

That is valuable, and we recommend it to every team. But it stays general. The Academy does not know how your ERP builds its prices, and the Forum does not know your routes. An Enablement Package starts where that general knowledge stops: with your systems, your data and the agreements that apply between them.

Those agreements are also why being able to build in-house pays off more and more. A piece of mapping code is quick to write and just as quick to replace. What lasts is the agreement behind it: which field becomes which field, which system wins when the data disagrees, and what happens when a message does not arrive. A team that understands those agreements and can find them in Alumio depends less on one person, internal or external.

The Enablement Packages are available for the Essential, Growth and Custom editions of Alumio. In a quote they appear as a separate layer next to the licence, the implementation and management; how those layers relate is explained on What an integration costs.

The people who train your team

Johan Moormann on the Enablement Packages. Alumio interviewed Johan Moormann of Memo about the Enablement Packages and the partnership between Memo and Alumio. He explains what the Enablement Packages deliver and how the partnership helps companies make their integrations succeed. Watch the interview below.

Catalin Coada on Alumio Talks. Catalin Coada is an Alumio developer at Memo. In episode 4 of Alumio Talks, a technical session with tips and tricks, he discussed best practices for the platform with Roland Lübbers of Alumio: entity schemas, storage, transformers, debugging and task processing. That is the knowledge a Memo specialist brings when working alongside your team.

Memo has been an Alumio partner since 2020, has built more than 100 integrations with it, and all our integrators are certified on the Alumio platform. The people who train your team are the same people who build routes every day. Who that team is and how a project with us runs is on Alumio partner in the Netherlands.

Want your team in the driving seat?

Tell us which systems you run, who on your team will work with the integrations and what they can already do. In half an hour we will know which part your team can take on and where it pays to bring us in.

Frequently asked questions

What is an Alumio Enablement Package?

An Enablement Package is an Alumio product that Memo delivers as a partner. You get direct access to integration support and training, a Memo Alumio specialist works directly with your team, the training is tailored and you get structured guidance for a quick start. The goal is for your team to build and manage integrations itself.

Which Alumio editions are the Enablement Packages available for?

All three: Essential, Growth and Custom. Which edition suits you depends on the number of tasks you process and the level of support you need. We look at that together in a first conversation.

Does my team need to be able to program to work with Alumio?

Not in the traditional sense. Integrations in Alumio are configured rather than programmed. It does help if someone on your team understands how APIs and data structures work. We match the training to the level that is there, so nobody drops out and nobody gets bored.

Can you build part of it and we do the rest?

Yes, and that is often the best split. We build the complex routes and the foundation, your team manages and extends them. We agree where the line sits per project, and it can shift over time. For the routes you would rather leave with us, see Managed integrations.

What does Alumio training cost?

It depends on your team, your landscape and how much guidance you want, so we do not quote a fixed amount. In a quote, enablement is a separate layer next to the Alumio licence, the implementation of routes and management after go-live. More on What an integration costs.
