Boom

Since 1895, Boom has been a leading laboratory wholesaler, offering over 60,000 products to meet the needs of customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Serving diverse sectors, including the food and water industry, hospitals, and pharmacies, Boom aims to create a sustainable world that allows lab employees to focus on essential tasks like research and control. Boom was in the midst of a challenging project when we were approached. Their previous partner faced several issues, leading to communication difficulties. As a result, Boom sought a new partner who could immediately take over, ensure direct communication, and confidently step into the project halfway through.

The Challenge

When we began our work with Boom, we faced challenges in integrating data between Business Central, Stibo, and Shopware, especially due to Stibo's limited API endpoints. Taking over mid-project required us to quickly understand existing workflows and implement solutions, such as enabling customers to assign Shopware orders to specific cost centers through user permissions. Our careful planning and teamwork ensured efficient system performance, leading to a successful integration.

Alumio

Alumio is a data integration platform that streamlines the connection between various systems and applications, enabling seamless data flow. It offers a user-friendly interface and powerful tools to help businesses automate processes and enhance data integrity across their operations.

We used Alumio to facilitate the integration of multiple data routes between Business Central, Stibo, and Shopware, ensuring efficient data flow and synchronization. Its user-friendly interface allowed us to develop innovative solutions to overcome API limitations, maintaining data integrity and optimizing our workflows throughout the project.

Technical Implementation

We faced the issue of lacking a dedicated endpoint to fetch all category information from Stibo to Shopware. To address this, we used a webhook to create a recursive-like process for navigating the category tree. This involved initiating the webhook with the first node and dynamically traversing through the nodes in order, effectively overcoming the limitations of Stibo’s API with our custom approach.

The Results

The overall result of the project was a successful integration that enhanced Boom's webshop functionality, enabling efficient navigation and order management for customers. We achieved seamless data synchronization between Business Central, Stibo, and Shopware, improved user experience through dynamic category handling, and implemented user and role-based permissions for cost center assignments. This collaboration not only streamlined operations but also expanded our expertise in e-commerce data integration, positioning Boom for future growth.

''After only 10 minutes in the conversation with Memo, we knew enough. Straight to the point, friendly service, and the urge to continue. This was exactly what we needed right now,” according to Martijn Jakobs, Manager at Boom BV.''
