XXL Nutrition

Building a scalable commerce ecosystem

Behind a smooth online shopping experience sits a complex set of systems that need to work together. For growing e-commerce brands, it is not only important that processes are automated, but also that everything stays clear, manageable and ready to scale.

For XXL Nutrition, one of the leading sports nutrition brands in the Benelux, most core processes were already automated. The next step was not to reduce manual work, but to create better insight and structure in the way systems work together. At the same time, XXL Nutrition introduced a new warehouse management system, Ceyenne from Diract IT. This made it extra important to keep the full system landscape clear and scalable.

To support this, Alumio was introduced as integration platform. This helped XXL Nutrition get better overview and control over their system landscape. Moreover, through Memo’s role as Alumio partner, we supported the improvement and structuring of the integrations together with XXL Nutrition and Diract IT.

The Challenge

XXL Nutrition works in a fast-moving e-commerce environment with many products and a high number of daily orders. The company already uses a set of connected systems:

  • Magento for the webshop
  • Pimcore for product information
  • Exact Online for finance and ERP

These systems were already integrated and largely automated. The challenge was not to build automation, but to improve insight and scalability.

With the introduction of Ceyenne as new WMS from Diract IT, XXL Nutrition needed to review parts of the integration landscape. The focus was on keeping the system structure clear and future-proof, while ensuring the new WMS would fit into the existing setup without adding complexity.

The Solution

Inside Alumio, existing integrations and workflows were improved and structured further. This made it easier to manage data flows between Magento, Pimcore, Exact Online and Ceyenne.

The main processes included:

  • Sales orders
  • Purchase orders
  • Product and stock updates
  • Fulfillment flows
  • Returns
  • Receipt of purchase orders

By centralising these flows in Alumio, XXL Nutrition gained more overview of how data moves between systems. The reliability of existing automated processes stayed in place, but the structure around it became clearer.

Resulting in, a more stable and scalable integration layer that supports both daily operations and future growth.

The Implementation Approach

As Alumio partner, Memo worked closely with XXL Nutrition and Diract IT. The focus was on improving and structuring what was already in place.

We worked on:

  • Making existing data flows more structured
  • Improving overview across systems
  • Supporting a stable integration of the new WMS Ceyenne
  • Aligning the technical setup with daily operations

The collaboration was close and practical. Technical teams and business teams worked together to make sure the setup fits how the business actually runs.

At Memo, we see integrations as more than connections between systems. They should give clarity and control, and help a business grow without adding unnecessary complexity.

The Impact

With the improved setup in place, XXL Nutrition now has more overview and control across their commerce landscape.

Instead of many separate flows, there is now a clearer integration layer that brings structure to how systems communicate.

This leads to:

  • Better insight into key processes
  • A more scalable system setup
  • More control over complexity during growth
  • A stronger base for future changes

The project shows that even when automation is already in place, the real value can lie in making systems more structured and easier to manage.

As Alumio partner, Memo helps e-commerce companies turn complex system landscapes into clear and scalable setups. With XXL Nutrition, this meant improving what was already working and making it ready for the next stage of growth.

Working with Memo during the implementation of our new WMS was a great experience. They were highly responsive, proactive in finding solutions, and truly acted as an extension of our team. Thanks to their dedicated development approach, we could rely on their support almost day and night throughout the project. Together, we successfully built several integrations in Alumio, resulting in a stable and future-proof integration landscape. A reliable partner that consistently delivers on its commitments.
